Contignum was founded in 2017 by Jacob Kachuba, founder and president of Tignum Design & Engineering. 

As a residential, commercial, and industrial engineer, Jacob has worked on over 350 projects in the GTHA and beyond. Throughout this time, he began to recognize a disconnect in the industry. Engineers create design plans, then pass them along to a builder who might not have the expertise to carry them out. Or, a builder creates a design that lacks the structural integrity provided by an engineer. 

There is a gap in how things should be done.

Jacob wanted to give his clients more. He wanted to design, engineer, and build.

And so, Contignum was born. 

Contignum provides a cohesive, high-quality approach to design-engineer-build. It’s an expert alternative to the status quo—a company that truly takes its clients from initial idea to opening or move-in day.
