“Jacob is obviously an expert engineer — but he also has a very creative design part of the brain that some engineers lack. We didn't have an architect for this project, which surprises a lot of people. We had a sense of what we could maximize in our house, then Jacob made some really interesting suggestions that we hadn't ever considered. The house is not massively larger than it was, but the use of space is much better, and the cantilevered back area Jacob conceptualized and designed is a favoured space.

We got our building permit in three days. Jacob even managed the neighbours and their expectations and concerns. And, he let us know when the concrete was being poured so we could put our handprints in with our kids. The personal touch was really special.
